     `There's a new DOE Office of Science Graduate
     >Student Fellowship program. It's open to U.S. citizens at a U.S.
     >institution and provides support for three years. The application
     >deadline is very soon -- Nov 30. The student is the one to apply,
     >and everything is submitted online.

     c. DETECTOR CENTER DIRECTOR JOB

     Argonne is advertising for a Senior Physicist to head up a
     proposal effort for a National Center for Advanced Detector
     Development, and (co-incidently), to work with us leading the
     Integration Effort under Bob. See:

     d. NEXT WORKSHOP

        Patrick LeDu (Lyon) and us will have the next Workshop be at
        the Laboratoire de Physique corpusculaire (LPC)
        Clermont-Ferrand. The dates are 9am Thursday Jan. 28 to noon,
        Friday Jan. 29.  The focus will be on Ultra-fast electronics,
        ASICS (ADC,TDC), systems with a large # of channels, data
        reduction, and Trigger and DAQ (ATCA). A web site should have gone up
        last week.
