Draw Feynman Diagrams with FeynMF
  • Refer to Here about how to install FeynMF in linux
  • Read the 'README' file after extracting feynmf.zip
    configure xterm
  • download a .Xresources file from internet
  • type xrdb -merge .Xresources in a terminal
    Ubuntu 10.04 shutdown takes toooo long
  • sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
  • change : GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" by : GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet acpi=force"
  • sudo update-grub
  • sudo reboot

    Install Root
  1. Install pre-requisites: refer to HERE; or just type: sudp apt-get install binutils libx11-dev libxpm-dev libxft-dev libxext-dev subversion
  2. svn co http://root.cern.ch/svn/root/tags/v5-26-00b root-5.26.00b
  3. ./configure --prefix=/usr/local
  4. make
  5. make install
  6. sudo ldconfig
  7. edit .bashrc: add the followingsexport
    export ROOTSYS=/usr/local
    export PATH=$ROOTSYS/bin:$PATH

    Install Revtex4-1
  • install texlive texlive-latex-extra latex
  • download revtex4.tar.gz and unzip the package to /usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/
  • run sudo texhash
    Install acroread refer HERE
  • go to Applications- Ubuntu Software Centr
  • Edit - Software Source
  • in "Other Software", check 'archive.canonical.com'
