8. The entire x-y plane to the right of the origin O is filled with a uniform magnetic field B pointing out of the page as shown. A electron of mass m and charge -e travels along the x axis with speed V and enters the magnetic field at the origin O.

What is the path of the proton after it passes the origin? How does the speed of the electron vary after it passes the origin? Calculate the value of the y coordinate at which the electron leaves the region of the magnetic field in terms of the variables given.
