ACCELERATOR SCIENCE SEMINAR TODAY

Monday April 16, 2018
PRC 201
4:15pm

Speaker: Haixiao Deng (Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics)

Title: Large Accelerator-Based Light Sources: Status and Plan in China

Abstract: In this talk, I will review the large-scale accelerator based light source activities in China, mainly focusing on synchrotron light source and free-electron lasers. Currently, there are three synchrotron light sources, i.e., BSRF, HLS and SSRF under operation in mainland of China, and new diffraction-limited low-emittance storage rings, e.g., HEPS and HALS are planned to be constructed in near future. For high-gain free-electron lasers, starting from the existing deep ultra-violet FEL test facility (SDUV-FEL), soft X-ray FEL user facility (SXFEL) based on coper LINAC and CW hard X-ray FEL user facility (SCLF) on the basis of superconducting LINAC is under construction.
