Title:  Directions in Particle Accelerators and Accelerator R&D

Abstract: Particle accelerators are powerful tools for Discovery Science and at the same time have become indispensable in industry, medicine and national security. A recent Argonne Accelerator Institute Retreat explored a wide range of promising directions for accelerator-based science and technology, aimed at next-generation capabilities and applications. An important aspect that was considered was the required accelerator R&D needed to deliver these next-generation capabilities. This presentation will summarize the results of this retreat.
