PARTICLE PHYSICS SEMINAR TODAY
Monday March 28, 2016
ERC 401
4:15pm
Speaker: Richard Gran (University of Minnesota, Duluth)
Title: How I learned to stop worrying and love multi-nucleon effects
Abstract: Neutrino oscillation measurements require accurate models for neutrino interactions on nuclei such as carbon, oxygen, and argon. A new measurement by MINERvA, PRL 116 081802, demonstrates the presence of two specific multi- nucleon processes in the nucleus, including a 2p2h process that leads to two proton knockout. The talk will discuss the measurement and impacts for oscillation experiments.
