There is a testbed for producing pure generator output, then later passing
it through the detector simulation and production -- in /cdf/data12a/mc_test.
It is currently set up to produce Z->ee:
cdfSim run_gen_cdfSim.tcl produces cdfSim.root, just EVCL, LRIH & banks.
Total disk consumption circa 10 KB/event.
cdfSim run_detectSimul.tcl reads cdfSim.root, outputs cdfSim_detectsimul.root.
Total disk consumption circa 100 KB/event.
ProductionExe run_Production.tcl reads cdfSim_detectsimul.root, outputs
cdfSim_production.root. Total disk consumption circa 200 KB/event.
The generation/simulation takes 3.5 seconds per event from
beginning to end, with the vast majority of that time (2.4 sec) spent in
detector simulation ("SimulationControlMod"), with SiPatternRecModule
the next longest at just under .5 sec/event.
