Sept. 19, 2001, HJF This file is howto_randysbrowser.txt These are instructions for doing simple things on Randy Herber's Data Catalog browser. It's quite a tool, so if you learn how to do more things please add them. The instructions below will get you luminosity, number of files per stream, number of events per stream (but not number of events per file!), etc., good run, etc. 1. Go to http://cdfdbb.fnal.gov:8520/cdfr2/databases 2. The three fields above the line are related to the request- we want `Data Quality', which should be the default. Click on 'submit request'. 3. Again in the 3 fields above the line- go to the 3rd field, and select 'DQ: Ray File Events for Run Number and Conditions'. Click on 'submit request'. 4. Now we're in the right data-base, and so now can select the data we want. To specify a (short) list of run numbers, or a range, click on the '?' next to the first field below the line- it gives you the formats for the run number request. You can also select on the 'shift crew' bit for goodruns, for example, if you want, by toggling a field below. A typical example would be (123601,123602) to get these two runs, or 123000:126000 to get all the runs in this range.
